An obituary to a legend, hero, angel, humanitarian...Abdus Sattar Edhi
Today I’ve been feeling incredibly sad only to find out that my real life hero, a man I’ve admired for long, Edhi, has passed away. Oh God...I'm tearing up on every bit of news about my hero Abdus Sattar Edhi. What a beautiful soul we've all lost today.
"... Despite all his success, he has always stayed humble, living a simple life in a small house barely large enough to encapsulate his enormous heart".
Even in death he has opted to have all organs donated and requested to be buried in the same clothes he has always worn. This is a man that owned only two pairs of clothes, plastic slippers and nothing else; has loved and served the poor, the neglected and traumatized people of our society... He accepted them with dignity when nobody did. For me his words stay in my heart forever "Humanity needs no religion"
